From farmland dating back to the Middle Ages to derelict areas left over from the town's industrial past in the 20th century, the Docks district in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine is evolving, becoming denser and undergoing a complete renewal. Located on the route of former Saint-Ouen canal, right next to the Seine and the planned new city park, the M9 plot is home to life-science laboratories. In the context of the new eco-neighbourhood of the ZAC des Docks, the project is exemplary in terms of environmental requirements.

We are aiming for an architecture that respects the site, is consistent with the urban development of the ZAC and conveys a contemporary image of science. In fact, the proposed project is sequenced in its linear form into three volumetric entities in order to reduce the perception of compactness, extend the public space within its plot, counter the heat island effect and multiply ecosystems in the neighbourhood.

The façades also contribute to the dialogue between the project and its immediate surroundings through a kinetic composition. This project offers flexible architecture that can be adapted to different uses, with a high-performance envelope and durable materials.
